And there was light
The recent rains had given stinging nettles a new lease of life in the churchyard, as some of us found to our painful cost during the working party morning. But we made very fast progress to bring air and light back into some of the more overgrown areas of the burial ground. -

Thank you so much to all who have volunteered to participate in this year’s Caldecote Open Gardens – we have a wonderful range of gardens and attractions lined up, from plant stalls to pony rides and pizzas to pigs! -
Churchyard working party: Saturday May 11th
Last summer a group of us had a go at tidying up the more overgrown areas of the churchyard. And the difference we managed to make in just a few hours is still very evident today. The north side of the graveyard is transformed – the late daffodils recently graced graves which a year ago [...] -

The reason seems to be that the parent birds had more trouble finding the types of moth caterpillars that they feed their [...] -
A date for your diary: November 23rd 2013
After the success of Moira Neville’s flower arranging event last year, which raised nearly £600, Moira has offered to come to Caldecote again, this time in the lead-up to Christmas 2013. We’re sure this offers an excellent and opportune chance to share seasonal ideas and inspiration. At this stage it’s a date for your diary [...] -
Christmas Gift Tombola raises over £200
Our ‘gift tombola’ in 2012 was more than double the success of the previous year, raising a total of £207.90. Our thanks go to Roger for being our front man! And equally important, to Sheila and Lisa for some incredibly hard work wrapping presents and folding tickets.
