Dona McCullagh will be leading a morning prayer service this Sunday (11th Feb) at 11am in the church. It’s the first of our new services on the second Sunday of the month.
As a current national newspaper TV advert puts it, “You see, Sunday isn’t really the end of the week – we think it’s just the beginning!”
Come and start your week with some quiet time of praise, fellowship and prayer. There will be tea and coffee served after the service.
The service will be led by our churchwarden, so there won’t be a sermon, but if you’d like to read ahead to gain more from our readings on the day, you can find them below:
If you have looked at the links, you’ll spot the theme of transfiguration, and it’s one that will be picked up in several of our hymns, which are also worth taking time to read in advance. Here are the lyrics from our first hymn:
Be still for the presence of the Lord
The holy one is here
Come bow before him now
With reverence and fear
In him no sin is found
We stand on holy ground
Be still for the presence of the Lord
The holy one is here
Be still for the glory of the Lord
Is shining all around
He burns with holy fire
With splendour he is crowned
How awesome is the sight
Our radiant king of light
Be still for the glory of the Lord
Is shining all around
Be still for the power of the Lord
Is moving in this place
He comes to cleanse and heal
To minister his grace
No work to hard for him
In faith receive from him
Be still for the power of the Lord
Is moving in this place
