You are warmly invited to our Choral Evensong led by the Archdeacon of Cambridge, the Ven. Alex Hughes, and featuring the well-reviewed choir Vox Cantab to dedicate our new window in memory of the late Dr Colin Bibby. The service will begin at 6pm and will be followed by light savoury snacks courtesy of our generous hosts and neighbours at The Old Rectory. Parking will be available at Meunier House, directly opposite the church. Parking stewards will be on hand and will direct you to drop off passengers outside The Old Rectory first before parking opposite.
The new stained glass design, which depicts a Dartford Warbler, was installed in memory of ornithologist Dr Bibby whose PhD research focused on the conservation of this unassuming and delightful bird.
Dr Bibby’s fundraising initiative after his diagnosis with an inoperable tumour funded the recent restoration of five of our church windows which were in need of re-leading to secure them for future generations.
Projects that make alterations to the building require what is called a ‘Faculty’, an official permission granted by a court of law, and you can read more of the story behind this project in the official Faculty Proposal (pdf).
‘A first-class choir that could have performed in a professional venue anywhere in the country.’

Evensong with Vox Cantab is not to be missed – it’s a heavenly sound that will fill the church. Do pass on the invitation to the Evensong service to your friends and family – all are welcome.
A collection will be taken to contribute towards the costs of the choir.
